I bought this beautiful, flattering A-line wedding dress from Anthropologie’s bridal store, BHLDN. It is the Fabienne dress by the designer Theia in an Ivory size 4. I am 5”9 and usually wear a size 6 or 8 in jeans and a size 4 in jackets.
From the designer: This airy gown was inspired by the Paris ballet; the ivory stretch-crepe top mixes beautifully with a full Spanish tulle skirt, which flows gracefully from the satin waistband. Known for exquisite beading and embellishments, Theia Bridal owes its name to the Greek goddess Theia, whose sparkling eyes are said to have harnessed the power of light.
The tulle skirt is full and gorgeous, but it was a little on the long side (even though I wore the dress with 3-inch heels), so I had the skirt shortened and also had the straps shortened by Sew Elegant, one of the tailors recommended by BHLDN in NYC.
The dress is in perfect condition. I wore it once at my wedding and got it professionally dry-cleaned soon after.
